CAC art series presents “The Death of My Daughter”

Our first exhibition “The Death of My Daughter” of winter quarter is currently in Kerckhoff Art Gallery. The opening reception was on Tuesday, Jan. 17 with our featured artist Leon Mostovoy. Our closing night is this upcoming Thursday, Jan. 26 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Cultural Affairs Commission has collaborated with Queer Alliance, General Representative 3, and the LGBT Center at UCLA to hold this program.

“Death of My Daughter” is a photographic show with accompanying video about transgender men. The series confronts the role of gender in contemporary U.S. society, exploring themes such as gender, sexuality, power, performativity, rebirth, expectations, and authenticity. His hope is that many will learn about the daily lives, struggles, rewards, and autonomy of men in the trans community. People will have more understanding of why they have transitioned and will not feel estranged by who we are.
