Won Fu

Taiwanese pop band Won Fu will visit the West coast this October. The tour is part of a cultural initiative to promote the island’s popular culture overseas via music, especially independent music. In addition to introducing Taiwan’s music to foreign audiences, the Taiwan government sponsors bands to perform abroad in order to further inspire their creativity and growth. Won Fu will pair up with Seattle band U.S.E (aka United State Of Electronica) for the visit. The tour begins October 21 in San Francisco at Cafe Du Nord, and wraps up October 31 in Seattle at the Vera Project.

Won Fu is wildly popular in Taiwan. Their music is fueled by its happy-go-lucky nature and their positive mentality, fun attitude, and wacky style. Won-Fu’s music is an eclectic mix of uplifting jangle pop, with tongue-in-cheek wit and retro chic. Their music is addictive, their lyrics infectious, their mood cheerful. Some say they blend the simple happiness of childhood with the affected melancholy of the teenage years. Won Fu believes that music and their performances should be a joyous experience.
