Mike Greenwood and Sports Performance
Jazz pianist and electronic keyboardist Mike Greenwood is a diversified musician out of the L.A. area. He is a UCLA student in the ethnomusicology department and this Monday night, Oct. 12, 2009 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. we will be featuring him and his band, Sports, at Kerckhoff Coffee House. It is free and open to everyone! Come out take a break from studying and enjoy a great night of music.
Currently 19, Mike has written and recorded songs varying from Jazz, Pop, Rock, R&B, and everything in between. He has played many venues over the last few years, including the Monterey Jazz Festival, Chicago Jazz Spotlight, and Reno Jazz Festival. He was a finalist for the prestigious Brubeck Fellowship in 2007, and now works out of UCLA. Currently, Mike is recording with DJ Marlon Fuentes, pop group Approaching Zenith, and his own jazz project. Check out some of his music at www.myspace.com/deffspanishmike
